Geo Jolie: The Jet Set get GeoTagged!
I am Johnnie come lately to this, but the Geo-community is in a buzz over Angelina Jolie’s series of tattoos marking the location of the birthplaces of her four children. As far as tattoos go, that’s about as cool as it gets.

The coordinates are in Degree Minutes Seconds notation because they look cool. The first thing I do when I get a set of coordinates in this notation is to translate it into Decimal Degrees. Why? Because they are easier to work with.
Then I type the coordinates into the "Find — Lat/Long" input and the Visual Fusion Client map flies me to the location of those coordinates. Turns out the coordinates in the snapshot are for Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Alright, now I am in Cambodia. I turn on the "Create GeoRSS Feed" tool, drop a point, and attach RSS metadata. I could also draw lines and polygons, but I just don’t.
When all four coordinates are plotted I save the GeoRSS feed. Now it is a xml-based file that can be shared out to the masses.
So, here is that tattoo flush with annotations and very important analysis…
